Gary Tangjerd

Gary began 16 years of automotive experience with General Motors of Canada at their Windsor Transmission plant. Working in a variety of positions from plant engineering to maintenance, he learned a great deal from the automotive giant, especially regarding the importance of systems and systemic approaches to problems.

With tier 1 automotive suppliers such as ICM/Krebsoge in St. Thomas, a manufacturer of powder metal parts and Valeo, another automotive supplier of radiators and lighting systems, he implemented JIT, 5S, and cellular manufacturing.

Today, at IFM Inc., Gary specializes in implementation of world class manufacturing techniques, including layout and cellular manufacturing, 5S training, Kaizen, QS/ISO 9000, and Just-in-Time. Other areas of expertise include project management, process engineering, cost-reduction programs, automation and material handling, capital budget assistance, facilities management, technical writing and employee involvement.
