5S

Workshop Overview

The 5S approach is a continual effort to eliminate waste by creating working conditions that are clean, safe, and organized. 5S is linked to continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and cycle time improvement - it is a prevention based approach, involving the whole work force.

Seri (organization), Seiton (neat and tidy), Seiso (cleaning), Seiketsu (standardizing), and Shitsuke (discipline) are used to show employees immediate change and allow them to participate in that change. This two-day workshop will have the attendees participate in a shop floor 5S exercise.
